As she rounds the last few days on the Net, the beta Microsoft Security Essentials will be officially available starting tomorrow. It should not differ from what we discovered last week when the interface and the official name of the product were disclosed.
As expected, Security Essentials offers free guide to how you are well protected against internet threats, Malware and Spyware for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. This suite will replace Live One Care stops the marketing end of June. Security Essentials was also designed to require minimal resources and space in order to run properly on the net Book.
Recently, Kaspersky Labs also introduced a special antivirus suite net Book. Free is another strong trend since AVG Technologies, Panda Software, Symantec and Microsoft have now taken (partly) this turn.
Minimum system requirements for Microsoft Security Essentials Beta
Operating System: Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3); Windows Vista; Windows 7 (Beta or Release Candidate)
For Windows XP, a Personal Computer with a:
CPU with clock speed of 500 MHz or higher.
Memory: 256 MB RAM or higher.
For Windows Vista and Windows 7, a Personal Computer with a:
CPU with clock speed of 1.0 GHz or higher.
Memory: 1 GB RAM or higher.
VGA (Display): 800 x 600 or higher.
Storage: 140 MB of available hard-disk space.
An Internet connection is required for installation and to download the latest virus and spyware definitions for Microsoft Security Essentials.
